Connecticut’s 2022-23 Winter Forecast: How Much and When
Any meteorologist will tell you that a seven-day forecast can accurately predict the weather approximately 80 percent of the time. The accuracy of a five-day forecast hits about 90 percent of the time, according to scijinks.gov.

There's good news and bad news depending on where you stand on snowfall projections. Accuweather.com chief meteorologist Paul Pastelok and his team of long-range forecasters are predicting "a triple dip La Nina."
This means that residents across the Northeast will see some snow and cold air as they experience one or two winter previews during November. However, the bottom line, according to Accuweather.com, is that it will shape up much differently than last winter due to a cataclysmic volcano eruption in the early weeks of 2022. The volcano spewed an unprecedented amount of debris high into Earth's atmosphere.
According to Accuweather, the winter weather forecast for WESTERN CONNECTICUT calls for accumulations of just 50-74 percent of the 2021-22 season. There's also a good chance that Connecticut will experience more than a few days of deep freeze temperatures after the New Year. The chance of a couple of Nor'easters in January and March may keep the season from being a total loss for skiers. Northern New England is expected to get more snow than usual which is great news for ski resorts in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
The Farmer's Almanac predicts Connecticut's first light snowfall between November 8th and 11th. Unfortunately, there's a good chance that kids looking forward to winter snow days in Northwest Connecticut this winter could be sadly disappointed.
