According to a new study, it's not good. Wallet Hub set out to find the states with the best women's rights and the Nutmeg State was #23 overall. WH examined the following factors:

Income Gap
Executive Positions Gap
Work Hours Gap
Educational Attainment Gap (Among Advanced Degree Holders)
Political Representation Gap

Connecticut's worst numbers were in the Executive Positions Gap where we were one of the worst states in the nation, ranking a dismal #47. Our neighbors in New York found themselves on the brighter side of the study, ranking #8 overall and tied for 1st for the smallest Educational Attainment Gap. The best state for women's rights is Hawaii and the worst is Utah.

International study highlights include:

The US is currently ranked 78th globally when it comes to the gender gap in health and survival.
The US is currently ranked 63rd globally when it comes to the gender gap in political empowerment.
In 2023, the U.S. failed to place in the top 10 — or even the top 30 — of the World Economic Forum’s ranking of 146 countries based on gender equality

It's tough for me to form any opinion on the matter because I'm a man and I've worked in the same building in Brookfield for nearly 25 years. This is all I've ever known so there isn't anything to compare it to.
