Connecticut State Police issued a press release with their version of the incident on Wednesday (09/11/24) that read:

"On 09/10/2024, at approximately 3:18 p.m., a Trooper assigned to Troop C in Tolland was conducting proactive highway speed enforcement and observed a white GMC SUV displaying Pennsylvania registration traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of I-84 westbound, passing Exit 73 in Union.

Using a laser unit, the Trooper determined that the GMC was traveling at approximately 94 MPH in an area with a posted 65 MPH speed limit. The Trooper then caught up to the GMC and initiated a motor vehicle stop. In response, the operator of the GMC failed to stop and accelerated to speeds of approximately 110 MPH. In the interest of public safety, the Trooper terminated efforts to stop the GMC, which continued traveling westbound on I-84, where several additional State Troopers were positioned in the area of Exit 69. Working together, the Troopers were able to box the vehicle in, and bring it to a stop safely. The accused operator, positively identified as Gagan Khandate, DOB 08/01/1993, of New York, NY, was taken into custody without further incident and the GMC was towed from the scene. Khandate was transported to Troop C, where he was processed."

CSP adds that in addition to the reckless driving charge (C.G.S. 14-222) is also facing a charge of Disobeying the Signal of an Officer (C.G.S. 14-223a). Khandate was later released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Rockville Superior Court, on 09/24/2024.

Nothing to see here, just a dude doing 110 through sleepy Union and Willington (ALLEGEDLY).

Under the Bridge – Danbury’s Hidden Art Project

Danbury, CT has a lot of murals which have been sanctioned by the city and then there is the illegal graffiti. The Hat City has its fair share of illegal graffiti but most of it, is off the beaten-path. It’s near the train tracks, and under bridges, it’s in places most residents will never go. I intentionally seek these places out. I like to go to places most people would find scary, grimy or even dangerous. I’m willing to climb over downed trees, step on broken glass and dodge rusting metal to find my way to a place I was never meant to see.
