Well, we've made it onto another list. And now I don't necessarily think this list is a bad thing. Just because something isn't popular, it doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, it could just mean that there is so much to be discovered.

Thrillist published a list of the least popular states around the country and Connecticut sits proudly on that list. Honestly, I feel like we don't need even more visitors than we already have. There's enough traffic in this state with just the amount of people we have in it now. Can you imagine we turned into a tourist state? I can't image what I-84 would look like.

Some states on this list surprise me. I feel like New England was completely targeted. Do people not visit New England? Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont all made the list. While Connecticut is probably the least popular of that list, seeing Maine on that surprises me. I feel like a lot of people visit Maine in the summers. And talk to people in New Hampshire and Vermont during leaf peeping season. They get busy.

The other states to make the list were Montana, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska and West Virginia. These states I can understand more (minus Montana that has both Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park). I don't see many people planning their summer vacation to Arkansas just for fun, but I do see people planning a trip to Newport for fun. See my dilemma?

The article mostly talks about why you need to visit these states before they get popular, so I wanted to see what was pointed out about Connecticut. Our shout outs included the greatest pizza in the world, the greatest flea market around (shout out Elephant's Trunk!), and the last one - "some real New England yacht culture." If anyone has a yacht I can go on, let me know!

Like I said, I'm all good with Connecticut being a quieter state. The less people the better if you ask me.

I was born in The Brass City, and now I live in Borington, you know them as Waterbury and Torrington. Both nicknames are a good fit, in my opinion, but some cities and towns in Connecticut have done a much better job, or failed miserably.
