Dog Abandoned on the Side of the Road in Connecticut, Now On Its Way to Recovery
Not many things break my heart more than people who abuse or abandon animals. I will never understand those types of cruel people in this world.

I came across a post that a pup right here in Connecticut was abandoned on the side of the road on one of the coldest nights we've had in a while. According to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, early Sunday morning, someone was jogging when they noticed this pup on the side of the street with only a little towel near the Branford Community House.
After the shelter was contacted, they have information to believe the dog had been outside since 11:30 pm Saturday night and the dog had not been found until after 7 am Sunday morning.
The Animal Shelter stated that the dogs paws appeared to have frostbite and he was in pain to walk. The vets rated his body condition between 2-3 and he was 10-20 pounds underweight. They also said the pup has demodex manage, which is parasite mite that lives in the dog's hair follicles, overgrown toe nails, and pressure sores from being crated.
Reading any sort of thing like this is so sad. I will never understand why people have animals if they can't take care of them. There are so many loving people who would take the dog rather than have it suffer.
Thankfully, the dog is in good hands with the shelter who will be taking care of him for quite some time while he gets the rehabilitation he needs. They even named him Lincoln.
The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter asks that anyone with any information regarding the dog to contact them at 203-315-4125.

I'm happy Lincoln is getting the love he deserves. I'll be thinkin' about you, good boy! Here's to a speedy recovery.
