So imagine if there was a device that could get rid of your migraine as soon as it starts or eliminate your next migraine from even happening. Well you don't have to imagine anymore because there's a Connecticut company that has unveiled an electronic device that does just that.

The company is called CEFALY Technology, which is out of Darien, that has just come out with the latest version of their External Trigeminal Nerve Stimulator specifically designed to treat migraines.

According to newstimes.com, the way the device works is after you place it on your forehead, it sends tiny electrical impulses through the electrode that works to trigger a specific nerve, the trigeminal nerve, which is the main cause of migraine headaches.

The great thing about this technology versus conventional medicine is that this device can be used either after a migraine starts, or even before you feel one coming on to prevent future migraines from ruining your day.

Back in 2017 the first incarnation of the device was approved by the FDA for public use. Since then, the company has been working on a new second version which is a bit bigger, and has an LED readout designed to let you know the treatment mode that you are receiving, according to the article.

The device is meant to be used for 10 minutes a day to prevent any form of migraines to happen, or if you're already having one you can use it for an hour. The purpose is to avoid having to use migraine medication.

The latest version of the External Trigeminal Nerve Stimulator is actually available now, without a prescription, and according to the company, is more user friendly.
