Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake came together once again for a special performance of "Say Something" at the 2018 Brit Awards on Wednesday (Feb. 21).

The song is off the pop star's recent album, Man of the Woods, and the two friends kicked off the show. Timberlake opened the Brit Awards with his upbeat and choreographed "Midnight Summer Jam" before transitioning to "Say Something" with Stapleton. As they traded verses on the song, midway through they were assisted with a full backing choir, all in white.

Timberlake hinted at the performance a day prior to the awards when he shared a behind-the-scenes photo rehearsing on stage with Stapleton, writing: "#Brits tomorrow night ..."

Unforgettable Chris Stapleton Moments

Stapleton shared the same photo and added his own caption: "I’m the one in the cowboy hat."

Following the Super Bowl, Stapleton joined Timerlake for a performance of "Say Something" during an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They also performed together at the 2015 CMA Awards — the start of Stapleton's rise to fame when he also took home the Album of the Year award for his debut solo effort, Traveller. He also helped write two more cuts on Timberlake's album, "Morning Light" and "The Hard Stuff," and plays guitar during the opening of the album's lead single, "Filthy."

"I really just went out to Los Angeles to write songs with him. That was one of those things where there wasn't necessarily a plan," Stapleton tells Billboard of working with Timberlake on Man of the Woods. "He was like, 'Alright, you hop in there and take a verse.' I'm like, 'You want me to do what?' ... It came out great. I had a blast with him, he's a great creative force and one of those guys that if you get a chance to work with him, you should."
