Chris Stapleton’s Grammy Win for Best Country Song Is Extra Special
Seconds after winning in the Best Country Solo Performance category for "Either Way," Stapleton stood alone in all black to accept this honor, speaking of his days in a van learning his craft with Mike Henderson and the SteelDrivers with pride and fondness.
"To win this with him means so so much to me," Stapleton said of Henderson during a short, quiet speech at the 2018 Grammy Awards pre-ceremony.
The other nominees in this category were Little Big Town's "Better Man," Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road," Chris Stapleton's "Broken Halo," Midland's "Drinkin' Problem" and Miranda Lambert's "Tin Man."
The win is Stapleton's fourth lifetime Grammy Award. He's also nominated in the Best Country Album category, to be presented during Sunday night's CBS telecast.
The Grammy for Best Country Song was presented during the Grammy pre-show, which was live-streamed at the Grammy website. Only the Best Country Album will be presented live during the 2018 Grammys on Sunday night. Maren Morris, Stapleton, Brothers Osbrone, Little Big Town and Eric Church are the country performers.
The televised 2018 Grammy Awards begin at 8PM ET on CBS. James Corden will host.
