The wait is over, Greater Danbury. Now you have your very own local Chowdah House in Bethel and it's called Captain Lou's.

Inspired by those Rhode Island Clam Shacks that are right on the water, Captain Lou's is located at 180 Hawleyville Rd. in Bethel across from the Big Y, where Rita's Ice Cream used to be.

They officially opened their doors on Saturday May 18th, and since then, people from all over the local area can now take the short trip to Bethel to experience homemade chowder, clam cakes, which is actually a clam fritter that you dip into the chowder, lobstah rolls, and lots more.

Of course, the clams will be authentic Rhode Island quahogs, and don't forget about Captain Lou's famous doughboy sundae, do-reos, and ice cream.

Look at what some of your friends and neighbors are already saying about Captain Lou's:

Amanda Arpaia is one of the co-owners of Captain Lou's and she's very excited to be open and serving up some tasty seafood, burgers and hot dogs to Greater Danbury:

It's been going great since we opened our doors two weeks ago. We just had a very good holiday weekend, people are giving us great feedback and loving the food. We're open seven days a week, and are looking forward to meeting a lot of new customers this summer from all over the area.
