Such a tragic loss that reverberates, I'm sure, with all that knew Sgt. Carlson.

I personally didn't know Sgt. Drew Carlson, yet I still feel the sadness of losing someone in the throws of whatever was affecting him. He served the community of Danbury and left behind a wife and three children. He should be remembered for all of the good he brought to the community, his family, and friends.

The Danbury Police Department took to Facebook to share information about an upcoming event. The city of Danbury's police union is planning a fundraiser to benefit the wife and three children of the late officer.

According to the event website, carlsonbowling.myevent.com, the outing on Nov.4 will be at Brookfield Lanes, 840 Federal Road. It is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. The event website says:

Sgt. Drew Carlson, Danbury Police Department, tragically and suddenly passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Erin, and their three wonderful children, Kayla, Taylor and Tyler. All proceeds will be given directly to the Carlson family.

What's most important in my mind, is the service that he dedicated himself to. Please plan to attend and help out his family if you can.
