CBS reports that a passenger's bad gas caused a flight to be evacuated and delayed. The unidentified flight at Raleigh Durham Airport was emptied out around 4 PM Sunday when a foul odor made passengers sick. After a brief investigation, it was determined that flatulence was the cause for the odor.

A spokesperson for the airline has since denied the natural gas claim. They said in a statement:

We did have an aircraft from Charlotte to RDU this afternoon, that landed at 2:19 p.m. ET, and arrived the gate at 2:21 p.m. ET, that is currently out of service for an actual mechanical issue – and odor in the cabin. But It is not due to “passed gas” as mentioned.

I don't know that we will ever know the truth on this one. I have to say, it's nice of the airline to take one on the chin for a passenger here. That's called super-serving your customers. If you are willing to say your airplane is broken rather than having one of your passengers embarrassed for the rest of their life, you have really gone above and beyond.

I can't pretend to know what this person's medical issue is, but I can assure you that they have one. If your rear-end can make people nauseous, empty a plane, and set off a Federal investigation, it may be time to see a specialist.
