A Peek Past the Steamy Windows of Litchfield’s New Bagel Master
Have you been trying to see the inside of Litchfield's hottest new breakfast destination Nick's Handmade Bagels too? My wife made it in, and she took a few pics.

I've been trying like hell to stop into Nick's Handmade Bagels at 419 Bantam Road in Litchfield since they opened up for business in early February, to no success. Why? Not only is it hard to find a parking spot in front, but they're also usually sold out by the time I get there. On top of that, the windows are usually steamed up on these frosty March mornings, you can't even see the delicious bagels from 202, it all adds to my handmade-bagel-lust.
My wife finally made it into Nick's this past Friday morning, and she was very pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices on their simple menu. 1 bagel is $2.50, a half a dozen is $9.50, and a dozen go for $16.50. The most expensive breakfast sandwich is a BLT for $6.75, and the most expensive lunch sandwich is smoked salmon for $9.25. Not 1 single menu item over $10, and the only thing over $10 is a dozen bagels for $16.50, you got to respect that, especially in Litchfield. Nick's also offers coffee, tea, and soft drinks, but the bagels are the star.
The only two that were sold out on Friday morning at 8am were the Blueberry and Egg bagels, and Egg are our current favorite. Oh well. We got a couple plain, a spinach, a salt, and two poppy. My initial reaction? Very, very good. Well worth $2.50 a pop.
