800 Connecticut Troopers Will Have Body Cams by Summer
Connecticut State Police have needed them for a while now, and it's official, they are on the way. Body cameras for state troopers will arrive soon.
Finally after being approved in Fall of 2017, they will be given to cops by early summer 2018.
800 new body cameras are currently en route, and it’s just a matter of time before every single trooper in Connecticut will be wearing one. Officials say the timeline is that within a year, all troopers will indeed have them.
The body cams were paid for by a grant from the United States Justice Department, costing a total of $895,000.
I think they are essential tools to help police do their jobs and to ensure that they are enforcing the law accordingly providing proof of what transpired. Body cameras can exonerate or implicate either a suspect, or the acting member of law enforcement involved at the scene of an arrest.
