It's been called one of the Hudson Valley's best "Hallmark" type towns.

The village of Wurtsboro is one of the towns in the Hudson Valley that has gotten a bit of a "bad rap" over the years. So bad that we have heard some people call it "Worstboro" instead of Wurtsboro. OUCH! Wurtsboro has also been mentioned a few times in recent lists of Hudson Valley towns with the ugliest names (the full list of towns is below. One of the Oldest Roads in America in Wurtsboro?

Old Mine Road is one of the oldest roads in America according to Wikipedia and runs through Wurtsboro. The road started as a cart path along the trails of the Leni Lenape and then became known as the Old Mine Road. Today Route 209 follows much of the path of the old road.

If you've never heard of Canal Towne Emporium, it's one place I think we all need to check out real soon. We received a ton of messages from folks that have been there and everyone had something similar to say, "Canal Town shopping Emporium is great for Christmas shopping. All kinds of great little finds". From what we have been told they also do a great light show around the holidays every year. Canal Towne Emporium is located at 107 Sullivan St, Wurtsboro, NY.
