I’m over the rain and gloom we’ve been stuck with lately, but there was one day in the past few weeks that completely revived me. I can't remember the exact date, but I can tell you it was bright, sunny, breezy, and unseasonably cool.

My whole body lit up—it felt like fall, my favorite season. It had that perfect football weather vibe, like Halloween was just around the corner, and every part of me was buzzing with energy.

I love fall. I love Halloween. So, you’d think I’d love Halloween stores, right? But when the only option is a seasonal cash grab with the word Spirit in the name... that’s a hard pass for me. Sure, they signal “The Change,” but they don’t actually represent anything. And ironically, they lack the very thing their name promises—spirit.

These pop-up Spirit Halloween stores don’t just feel empty—they’re temporary and forgettable. Which raises a fun question: could there be a place that truly lives Halloween year-round, full of authentic energy and spooky charm?

Turns out—there is. And it’s right here in Connecticut.

I haven’t had the chance to visit yet, but the buzz on TikTok is real. I’ve seen a bunch of social media videos giving sneak peeks of Halloween Dungeon, located at 151 Main Street in Seymour, CT.

Take a look for yourself:

I’m in love. I’m a huge supporter of local, family-owned businesses in Connecticut, and an even bigger fan of celebrating Halloween 365 days a year.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up: next time I’m in Seymour, I’m definitely stopping by. So, if you happen to see my wife wandering around town with a confused look on her face, tell her I’m in the Halloween Dungeon—snacking (on stuff I brought) and making monster noises.

I don't even care what they sell, they could offer non-fungibles, the idea of Halloween in little blood vials AKA empty blood vials and I'm making a purchase. Take my money weirdos.

Say, to get to Seymour, do I hook a left at Derby?

I want the best out of every experience, especially when it comes to Halloween attractions. For me, what makes something "better" or "best" often depends on how close it is to my bedroom. Halloween in Danbury Is Summed Up in 3 Words: Deer Hill Avenue

Each year, a sea of Hat City residents descend on Deer Hill Avenue to celebrate Halloween. I don't know when it started but this tradition is one people wait for all year. This year, just like last and the one before, my wife Erica and I took our daughter Vida up and down the street to collect candy and memories.
