Yankee Manager Aaron Boone's Son to Play Soccer at WestConn

It seems interesting that with baseball being a part of the Boone family for generations, Aaron's son would turn to soccer, but there's a good reason.

Baseball has definitely been an integral part of the Aaron Boone family for years. The Yankee Manager's grandfather Ray Boone started the family baseball tradition when he made the bigs right after World War 2, then Ray's son Bob had a pretty decent MLB career with the Philadelphia Phillies where he was a 4-time all star and world champion, and Bob's two sons Aaron and Brett both had successful runs with a few different teams.

So why is one of Aaron's sons not playing baseball? It may have to do with where he was born and raised.

According to sportscasting.com, Jeanel Boone was adopted by the Boone's after Aaron's wife Laura made a humanitarian mission to Haiti shortly after the country had been hit with a catastrophic earthquake. She met Jeanel while on that mission, and adopted him. Laura returned to Haiti later that same year and adopted Jeanel's younger brother.

The Boones have two biological children of their own and added the two other adopted sons in 2014.

Jeanel attended Greenwich High School where he was a captain of the school's soccer team and helped to lead them to the FCIAC Championship game in 2019.

After graduation last June, Jeanel committed to Western Connecticut State University and earned a spot on the highly successful men's soccer team.

So don't be surprised if you are in the stands for one of the WestConn men's soccer games and you see Aaron in the stands near you cheering for his son.
