Yankee Candle Announces Recall, Danbury Store Responds

The Yankee Candle Company has announced a major recall on one of their most popular candles, and you won't believe why.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the company has announced a major recall on their Luminous Collection Candles. The announcement cited that the problem is that once the candle is lit, the square glass jar in which it sits can crack, posing a laceration hazard.

The recall includes these popular Luminous scents:

• Sea Salt & Coral
• Blackberry & Sage
• Apple Blossom & Melon
• Sugarcane & Honey
• Pine & Sandalwood
• Cinnamon & Cedar

The company was made aware of the issue after customer feedback alerted them to a potential hazard.

Tina Keeler, who works at the Yankee Candle Store in the Danbury Fair Mall, had this to say about the recent recall:

We have had some customers already return them. They are the square candles with three wicks that were introduced at the end of September. We're asking anyone who's purchased these candles to return them to the store for a full refund and a free large candle.
