Officer With Gigantic Heart Newest Member of the Wolf Den

The Wolf Den of Heroes continues as we get closer to 2026. We look forward to celebrating a first responder you know before we close out the year in December. We are also glad to share that we will get to honor more first responders next year. Nominate the first responder in your life today.

Each month, The Wolf teams up with Mid Hudson Pump and MHA of Dutchess County to select one of our area's first responders to be inducted into the Wolf Den of Heroes from among everyone who has been nominated to date. Sometimes it is not one person but actually a whole team that we put in the spotlight. This month, we will be honoring someone who helps his community and High School students directly.

Meet the Wolf Den Inductee for November, Officer Bruce White

Officer White is a School Safety Resource Officer at John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction. He also serves on the East Fishkill Police Department. He was nominated by Brenda for the Wolf Den of Heroes with the following comments.

Bruce is an SRO at John Jay Senior High School in East Fishkill and gives his heart and soul. His work ethic, along with his dedication to the job, the children, and the community, are like no other. He has been an SRO since 2020. During the pandemic, one of the most unusual times, to say the least, for the students. Bruce was there for those students during and after, even at graduation, which had to be conducted “unconventionally” due to the pandemic. (per Brenda for his nomination)

 

John Jay High School SRO is the Wolf Den Hero for November

Brenda went on to say that Bruce was there for the students after the community lost a hero, Sgt. Daniel P. Didato, who was involved in a tragic accident on the Taconic State Parkway a week before Christmas in 2023.
She also said that there are not enough words to describe the true essence of SRO White; he is a strength and presence like no other, with a smile that lights up the room.
