According to the Wolcott Police Department, at 7AM yesterday morning, Tuesday, May 25, 2021, WPD received a report of a burglary in progress at a residence near the Tap & Barrel Bar and Grill on Wolcott Road. When officers arrived, they found that the alleged suspect had kicked in the back door of the residence, fired a gun into the house, and had fled the scene.

Officers learned through their investigation that this was not a random act. At 1:30 PM yesterday afternoon, Wolcott Detective Tim Jackson and Waterbury Detectives Dave McKnight and Dan Dougherty found the suspect and his vehicle on Wolcott Road, and attempted to box him in with their vehicles. The suspect allegedly rammed both of the Detective's vehicles in an attempt to escape, but it was not successful and the suspect was taken into custody.
