Right now there’s no public knowledge of the Trump family owning a dog. The President Elect would be the first in 150 years that doesn’t have one in the White House. Owning a dog is a must in the nation's capital If you follow the logic and wisdom of an old politician who once said: “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.”

A Palm Beach, Florida neighbor of Mr Trump, Lois Pope, has offered the family a golden retriever--poodle mix puppy to keep as the first dog according to the Washington Post. The puppy’s name is Patton. Ms Pope has been friends with the President Elect for over 20 years, and hopes Patton will get to move into the canine wing of the White House soon.

If Patton isn’t a good match, we know of several adorable dogs and cats looking for a forever home. Meet Abner our newest little love from the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford. In fact Mr. Morning has a great video of him with us that you can watch too!
