Who Remembers Showbiz Pizza in Waterbury? How About Creepy Uncle Klunk?
Recently, I saw an interesting TikTok video about the Showbiz Pizza Chain.
The video told a story of an Animatronic character called Uncle Klunk. According to the video, Uncle Klunk was the most problematic of all the robot characters at Showbiz Pizza. The video suggests that Uncle Klunk may have been tied to the disappearance of a boy.

That story sounds like Grade-A - B.S.to me but it sparked a memory. I'd seen Uncle Klunk somewhere along the line, during my childhood. That would make sense, I was born in 1979, and according to what I've read, Uncle Klunk would have been performing at Showbiz Pizza locations when I was a kid.
After looking further, I found mention that Waterbury had a Showbiz Pizza or a Pizza Time Theater. So, I immediately went to my pal Large Dave to confirm. Dave is my morning show partner on the Ethan, Lou & Large Dave Show and he was born and raised in Waterbury, CT.
Dave told me he thinks he remembers a Showbiz Pizza, but he's certain there was a Chuck E. Cheese. According to what I've read, most Showtime Pizza locations were bought up by Chuck E. Cheese.

Unlce Klunk could never be a "thing" today, and not because it was a demonic doll that stole little boys and forced their families to move. It could not happen because it's scary looking, because he was balding, because his nose looked like a penis. In our day, our parents didn't care if we were scared or if there were subliminal penises everywhere. It was a frightening penis laden hell-scape.
