I love Boson. It's a really fun city to visit but it has a really glaring issue, parking. In fact, the parking is so bad that people sell parking spaces almost like residential real estate.

Dig this:

According to Car Scoops, a parking spot in Boston just hit the market for $750,000—yep, you read that right. It’s in a garage in Beacon Hill, super close to Boston Common and the "Cheers" bar. For comparison, the average home in the U.S. costs about $419,000 (according to Fortune).

And it’s not just the price tag. You’ll also pay $400 a month in fees and $291 in property taxes. Think no one would be nuts enough to pay that? Looks like at least one person is, since it’s listed as "contingent" on Redfin. The owner has already accepted an offer, but it's not official yet. Oh, and it sold for $500,000 last year, so someone’s making a nice profit in just two years.

This got me thinking about parking in Connecticut. It might not be as crazy as Boston, but we definitely have our share of issues. I live in Danbury, so I could complain about the Hat City's parking all day, but I’m guessing it’s nowhere near the worst in the state. What do you think?

Since we're here I'll gladly tell you I hate parking in Norwalk and everyone in Danbury needs to stop double-parking on Main Street. Please. Thank you. You're welcome.

P.S. I don't care how much money you make, if your home city is selling parking spaces for three-quarters of a million dollars, it's time to move where no one knows your name. That was a "Cheers" reference for the young folks.
