Connecticut’s Own Meryl Streep Is a Hall-of-Fame Caliber Neighbor

Meryl Streep is such a good Connecticut neighbor, she was recently inducted into the Connecticut Hall of Fame.

When reading about it in the Register Citizen, it made me chuckle hearing Meryl’s friend and Connecticut State Representative, Roberta Willis, say at Streep’s induction ceremony:

Moving to Connecticut was the best thing that happened to Meryl because this is where she lost her New Jersey accent. Seriously, everyone knows that she is gifted and one of the most respected actors worldwide, but she is equally a great friend, mother, activist and a Salisbury neighbor.

While taking a break from her continual path to Oscar Gold, she comes back to her hidden spot in small town Salisbury with a population of 3,977 according to the 2000 US Census.

She’s been a resident since June of 1985 when she and her husband moved the family to Litchfield County. Prior to that, the town’s claim to fame was bearing the New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut tri-state marker. Our question is what room do you keep all the awards?
