The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for our area for late this afternoon and into tonight.

According to an official statement from the NWS, there is potential for isolated strong to severe thunderstorms to affect the region, mainly late this afternoon and this evening. The main threat with this severe weather will be damaging wind gusts along with heavy rainfall, which may produce flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas.

The rainfall could dump almost an inch on us in a short period of time, therefore the threat of low lying flooding will pose a problem especially later on this evening.

The rain will continue into Tuesday with periods of rain throughout the day and once again the potential for locally heavy rain. Look for clearing and cooler weather for Tuesday evening.

Here's a look at what you can expect for the rest of the week:

Wednesday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 81.
Friday

Saturday
