On Tuesday, we wrote an article about a Waterbury woman who was being accused of a hit-and-run, where she allegedly hit a pedestrian, injured them severely, and drove off.

The accident took place at the early hours of Saturday, May 22, when Waterbury officers responded to a report in the area of Frost Road and Homestead Ave where a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they located a 31-year-old female who was facing life threatening visible injuries due to being struck. As officers looked into the incident, they obtained a warrant for Stacy Edwards, who was accused of driving the vehicle, but she was not apprehended.

The vehicle involved in the accident was a Black 2007 Jeep Cherokee with license plate BB-74168.

According to police, as of today, May 27 at about 5:30 AM, the woman accused, Stacy Edwards of Waterbury, surrendered herself to Waterbury Police.

Edwards is currently being held on a $250,000 bond and is due in court today to face the following charges:

  • Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree
  • Assault in the 3rd Degree
  • Criminal Attempt at Manslaughter in the 1st Degree
  • Reckless Driving
  • Evading Responsibility - Serious Physical Injury
