An 18-year-old Waterbury man and three juveniles were arrested early Monday morning (April 30) after leading police on a high speed chase up Interstate 95 from Fairfield to Guilford.

Just before 3:00 AM, Westport Police alerted State Police that they were in pursuit of two vehicles that were wanted in connection with several vehicle break ins. Westport police terminated their search when the suspects crossed into Fairfield. State Police were able to quickly identify the two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed Northbound on I-95 via DOT cameras. The suspects were then seen on camera abandoning one vehicle and all getting into one car.

Police and DOT personnel were able to keep track of the vehicle thanks to DOT cameras, caught up with the suspects in West Haven, and continued to persue the car until they were able to stop it with stop sticks around exit 59 in Guilford.

The driver, Jordan Butler of Waterbury, was charged with a variety of offenses including reckless driving, engaging police pursuit and reckless endangerment. The three juveniles were issued juvenile summons and released to their parents. Butler is due in Bridgeport Superior Court Tuesday (5/1.)
