I don't know about you, but if I won the lottery, I would be on the doorstep of the place that cuts those checks or hands the winners the cash as soon as possible. Believe it or not, sometimes winners of Connecticut Lottery games may lollygag to pick up their winnings for whatever reason.

Imagine purchasing a lottery ticket of some sort, like a fast-play $10 game at a liquor store as you were on your way to a party, then you get distracted, put the ticket stub in the "catch-all" drawer that we all have when you get home, and you forget about it. That could have possibly happened to someone in New London because there is a prize worth more than $220,000 waiting on someone who purchased a "Fast Play - $10 Extreme Green Progressive" ticket and won 100% of the jackpot at New London Wine & Spirits. Check it out...

I am sure you noticed all the others as well, this information comes to us from the website of the Connecticut Lottery for unclaimed prizes. As of yesterday (10/30), there was $1,668,766 out there waiting to be claimed by whoever bought those tickets with the latest being on Saturday (10/29) at a Speedway in Middletown. Someone there bought a "Fast Play - $5 Extreme Green Progressive" and won 50% of the pot which comes out to a little over 63 grand, as you can see here from their website.

Clearly, there is an expiration date and Connecticut gives folks plenty of time to claim these things so I am sure it is only a matter of time till they are picked up by their owners.  This is from the Connecticut Lottery website:

You just may have a top prize winning ticket, but you'll never know unless you CHECK YOUR TICKET in a Ticket Checker!

So check those tickets and also along with that handy dandy information provided on their website, the CT Lottery also will release a public notice each time someone wins something and that is right here. So, if you think you may possibly be owed some lottery cash, check your pockets and that "catch-all" drawer and see if you can find that weeks or months-old receipt from that game you forgot you played, and good luck to you all over again.
