By the time Tyler Farr took the stage at the 2017 Taste of Country Music Festival on Saturday night (June 10), the sun was setting, the mountainside was packed and the fans were rowdy and ready for a good time.

The singer delivered, offering up and hour's worth of hits and album cuts that ran from sentimental to party-worthy.

Throughout his set, Farr moved deftly from the rockin' "C.O.U.N.T.R.Y." to his poignant newest single "I Should Go to Church Sometime," from "Poor Boy" to "Withdrawals." Before "I Should Go to Church Sometime," Farr went a little soft, reflecting on how marriage has changed him. "Damn Good Friends" found the singer giving thanks for that one friend that you can always count on to do something stupid — turns out, Friday night's (June 9) ToC Fest 2017 headliner Jason Aldean is that friend for Farr.

Before "Better in Boots," Farr urged the country girls in the crowd to get up and dance: "We wanna see all of you ... instead of all of these guys," he said, shouting out the ladies once again before his very first single "Hot Mess," which Farr said was "about probably every damn girl that's here tonight."

Farr closed his ToC Fest 2017 set with two covers: a brief version of Nine Inch Nails/Johnny Cash's "Hurt" followed by all of Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box" and his No. 1 single "A Guy Walks Into a Bar." The latter was easily the biggest singalong of the night, especially after Farr asked all of the fans gathered on Hunter Mountain to pull out their cell phones, lighters, flashlights, whatever, and light up the venue.

"This is awesome," Farr said as he looked out into the crowd. "That's why we have the best genre in the world!"

The 2017 Taste of Country Music Festival is scheduled to run through Sunday (June 11). Miranda Lambert closed out Saturday night (June 10), and Sam Hunt will end the festival on Sunday night.
