The cause of the crash that killed two Dutchess County man just before Christmas is still under investigation.

Friday morning, New York State Police from Dover found a car upside-down in a pond off Weil Road in Dover. Two men were found dead inside the car

The driver, 33-year-old Otto W. Eisermann, and his passenger, 30-year-old Billyjack A. Hubert, both from the Town of North East were pronounced dead on the scene. The New York State Police SCUBA Unit assisted in retrieving the bodies and the car from the icy pond.

It’s still unclear why the Eisermann’s vehicle exited the roadway. It is unknown if drugs and or alcohol were contributing factors to the collision, police say.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact the Dover Bureau of Criminal Investigation at (845) 677-7300.

Also responding to the scene of the crash were members of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Fire Company, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Town of Dover Highway Department and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner.
