Two Contestants Will Represent Connecticut on ‘Survivor’ Season 42

It's been called the grandaddy of all reality shows, it set the bar for all shows that followed. It's Survivor and this season, two Connecticut contestants will try and win it all.

Survivor returns to CBS for its 42 season on March 9, and this week they announced the new contestants who will be competing for the big prize, a check for $1 million dollars.

This season, there will be two contestants that hail from Connecticut competing for the big win. They are:

Daniel Strunk who is a 30-year-old law clerk and cancer survivor who calls New Haven Connecticut home. According to the Survivor Official Website, here's why he thinks he's going to be the sole survivor this season.

I truthfully think the odds are against me. It is all going to be a matter of threat management. I’m going to leave it all on the table. I will play my heart out because it will probably be the one shot I get – I’ve been waiting years, and I want no regrets. I can’t promise you I will win, but I can promise you I will have fun and make the most of this opportunity. Cancer survivors don’t go anything less than full throttle.

 

The other contestant from Connecticut is Chanelle Howell from Hamden. She is 29 years old and is an Executive Recruiter, and here's why she thinks she's going to be the sole survivor of season 42:

I’m truly a student of the game. I’ve watched all the seasons,
I’ve studied the greats, and I’ve learned the nuances. I am a subject matter expert in SURVIVOR. Aside from having the “toolbelt” to win, my motivations will push me through the cold nights and hungry days. I want to show Black and brown girls that this game was made for us, too!

I'm sure you're familiar with how the contest works. The show will follow the 19 new contestants as they compete for $1 million dollars and the coveted title of "Sole Survivor". They will be pushed to their breaking points testing their mental and physical strength, plus as I'm sure you know, the show always features major twists and unpredictable situations throughout the competition.

Season 42 premieres on Wednesday night March 9 at 8 PM on CBS-TV.
