ANOTHER Tornado Confirmed in Connecticut, Map Shows Path

Is Connecticut turning into the new Kansas?

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a storm in Stonington produced a EF0 tornado yesterday morning at 7:56am. The tornado had an estimated wind speed of 65-85 miles per hour. It was 100 yards wide with a path length of 2.3 miles.

The interactive map shows approximately where the tornado touched down and lifted four times before it was over. It leftmany uprooted trees and broken branches in it's path. The roads affected were North Anguilla Road, Miner Pentway, Route 184 between Route 2 and Route 49 and Route 49 near Babcock Road.

Thankfully there were no deaths or injuries reported and Eversource is not reporting any outages on their website.

Just before this tornado touched down in Stonington, The National Weather Service reports that another tornado touched down on Fishers Island at 7:35am. Fishers Island is located near Stonington in Block Island Sound. A priliminary report shows states that this tornado was also an EF0 with 65-85 mph winds and a path length of approximately 2 miles.
