A man who had a child with his biological daughter who grew up in the Dover is accused of killing their child, his daughter and her adopted father.

In 1998, Steven Pladl and his wife gave birth to Katie Pladl. After Katie was born she was put up for adoption. Katie attended Dover High School in Dutchess County and planned to attend Dutchess Community College. After she turned 18, she reconnected with her biological parents.

Katie stayed with her biological parents, began a sexual relationship with her father and had a child.

According to CBS, Katie and Steven had a baby in September 2017 and got married.

After Steven’s wife learned about the pregnancy she divorced Steven and called police.

In Jan., Steven and his daughter, Katie were arrested after police learned they had a baby together in North Carolina.

As part of Katie’s bond terms, she was required to live with her adoptive parents in New York, according to CBS. 

Early Thursday morning, Steven and Katie’s child was found dead in North Carolina. In a 911 call, Steven’s mother, who had custody of the child, said Steven killed the baby and was on his way to New York to confront Katie and her adopted father.

"He left the baby dead," Steven’s mother told a 911 operator, according to WNCN. "His wife (Katie) broke up with him yesterday over the phone. She's in New York and he told me he was on his way.”

On Thursday around 8:40 a.m., New York State Police learned about a double homicide in the town of New Milford, C.T. A man and woman were found dead in a pickup truck with New York plates.

Katie Pladl, 20, and her adoptive father, 56-year-old Anthony Fusco were identified as the two found dead in the pickup, according to CBS.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a light blue mini-van with North Carolina plates.

The vehicle was found by a probation officer from the Dutchess County Probation Department on Dog Tail Corners Road, east of Berkshire Road in the town of Dover.

Police from the Dutchess County Sherriff’s Office, New York State Police, New Milford Police Department and Connecticut State Police converged on the vehicle, which was found parked with the engine running on the shoulder of the roadway next to the Ten Mile River.

On Friday, New York State Police identified the driver as 45-year-old Steven Pladl, pending autopsy results and finger print confirmation. Police also allege Steven killed his infant son.
