Three of the Loudest Concerts I Ever Got to See in Connecticut
A friend recently asked me what were the loudest concerts that I went to in my 40+ years of seeing shows, and my Top 3 may surprise you.
The first concert I ever saw in Connecticut was U2 at the Hartford Civic Center in April 1985. We were in the nosebleeds, but EVERYONE was screaming at the top of their lungs. That was the first time that my ears rang after a concert, it wasn't the band that damaged my hearing it was fans. I've seen hundreds of concerts since, and today my ears are shot. I've got high-end hearing loss in both of my ears, and I will not go to a concert without earplugs from now on, I've heard too many of my friends come down with tinnitus, and I don't want it.

Bonus picks to round out the Top 5 - at #4, the Violent Femmes at Mohegan Sun in 2018, my God, the sound that came out of that three piece band? Unreal. And #5 was Phoenix at College Street Music Hall in New Haven in 2017.
