The Second ‘Raising Cane’s’ Restaurant in Connecticut Opens Tomorrow
Connecticut is the Pizza Capital of the United States, the inventor of the Hamburger, Lollipop, and the warm, buttered lobster roll, but our thirst for chicken fingers cannot be quenched. The second Raising Cane's Chicken Finger Restaurant in Connecticut will open the doors up for business tomorrow, but I have a sneak peek for you if you haven't tried their famous chicken fingers yet.
The very first Raising Cane's in Connecticut opened up earlier this year on Elm Street in Enfield. Local news reporters flocked to the scene and live shots were sent back that showed incredibly long lines of folks waiting to try those chicken fingers. Chicken fingers are basically the only thing on their menu. You can also get a chicken sandwich, fries, Texas toast, and coleslaw. That's it. Raising Cane's menu reminds me of the Kings of Connecticut menu brevity - Blackie's, or Louis Lunch. 'We do one or two things right, every time, you want something different, Go elsewhere'. Love it.
The new Raising Cane's is located at 546 Bushy Hill Road in Simsbury, and it opens tomorrow, September 10. Mrs. Large brought me 3 fingers from the Enfield store yesterday, and my first impression? They're excellent. Very light, yet crispy breading, superior quality chicken meat, light seasoning, great aftertaste.
This was my first time trying Cane's Sauce too, I expected a bit of spice or heat, but it's very mild, peppery, and smokey. It's delicious, and it goes great on the fries too. The price? $11. A bit steep for 3 chicken fingers and a soda, but these were worth it.
