I was introduced to Greek cuisine in Waterbury at Spartan's Restaurant, and my love was cemented by attending the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church's Greek Festival every Mother's Day weekend since the 1980's. By the way, the 53rd annual Waterbury Greek Festival is this weekend.
