The Best Themed Restaurant in Connecticut May Surprise You
I love a good themed restaurant. There's nothing better than walking into a restaurant that has an extremely unique setting to it and it's even better when it's known for its good food as well.
When I'm traveling, I always try to look for restaurants that have a unique take to them. I always stay away from chains and try to find the spots that all of the locals love going to as well. Just recently when I was in San Diego, I ate at a camping-themed restaurant that I adored. The tables were under tents, the walls were painted as mountains and there were props throughout the restaurant. They even offered smores as dessert and provided your own little fire to roast your marshmallows. The details don't go unnoticed and I'll think about that restaurant for a good while. Here's a look.
I came across an article on Love Food about the best themed restaurants throughout the U.S. When I think Connecticut, I don't really know about too many themed restaurants. If you know of any, hit me up on our app. I would love to go visit them. The first one that came to mind for me was Cava in Southington. They do different themes and their decorations are out-of-this-world. Everyone in Connecticut is completely aware of it though, so I won't have been too impressed if that was the restaurant to land on the list.
But, the restaurant that did land took me by surprise. It was Mac n' Out in Milford. The blurb states, "This restaurant describes itself as 'the place where mac met cheese' – though you could also say it's where mac ’n’ cheese met pretty much every other ingredient known to man." Mac n' Out is definitely unique in their food choices - involving mac n' cheese in mostly all of their dishes. They put a delicious spin on normal comfort food and their menu is definitely intriguing, but do you consider that a theme? I don't know, maybe you do.
When I think theme, I think about the one I described that I went to in San Diego. I could be so wrong, maybe mac n' cheese is a theme. What are your thoughts? What is your favorite themed restaurant in Connecticut?
