Thanks to Connecticut, Massachusetts is Home to the Top-Ranked Pizza in the Nation

From Forbes Magazine to Food and Wine Magazine, the most unexpected pizza is ranked among the best in the country for 2023 and so far, 2024 all thanks to the Nutmeg State.

There's nothing like finding that favorite pizza place, style of pizza, or both. And even then, it's fun to venture out and see if you can find a new favorite. But we can't help ourselves when it comes to finding that perfect slice of heaven.

As we already know in Connecticut, don't call it 'pizza', because it's 'apizza' to those of us in the know. Now, this New Haven style pizza, sometimes referred to as Connecticut style outside of the state, is calling the Boston area a second. home.

The first of two locations is now open in the Boston area so lucky they are to have Sally’s Apizza as it consistently getting top billing all over the country, even if you can only find it in Connecticut. Well, until now.

I'm sure most New Englander's have heard of it it they're originally from the region or have lived here awhile considering this specialty 'apizza' took off with a cult following decades ago.

Although there are several New Haven or Connecticut style pizza places, Sally’s Apizza is not only adding Connecticut locations soon in Norwalk, Wethersfield, Newington, and West Hartford it's now open in Woburn, Massachusetts with a another location opening in Boston's downtown Seaport District according to Boston.com.

Founded in 1938, Sally’s is known for its hand-crafted, authentic New Haven pizza with a sweet and tangy tomato sauce. They're light on cheese (unless you want more), and their char is iconic, one-of-a-kind, and the most identifiable aspect.
