Tanlines? Here’s Where You Can Sunbathe Nude in Connecticut
Are you a naturalist? Hooked on Naked and Afraid? Would you like to get rid of those pesky tan lines once and for all, but you live in Connecticut? Land of the conservative old ladies that frown upon any sort of nudity? There are a couple of places for you to freely express yourself, all of you. Here's where you can sunbathe nude in Connecticut.
First and foremost, everywhere, to an extent. That's right, Connecticut has plenty of public indecency laws, but topless freedom is allowed in Connecticut when practiced without the intention of offending others. That doesn't mean that you should waltz au naturel down Padanarum Road in the middle of the afternoon, ok. But if you're in rural Connecticut, away from commerce, playgrounds, and other humans, have at it.
If you don't want to run the risk of a 15-year-old hiker stumbling by while you get some sun rays on your nether regions, Connecticut is home to two private resorts that allow nude sunbathing, which you could enjoy for a fee. They're both located in the far Eastern part of the state by the Connecticut/Massachusetts/Rhode Island borders. The first is a legendary resort that has been in operation for almost 100 years. Solair is a 360 acre family-friendly nudist resort, located on Idle Perrin Road in Woodstock, CT, and it's been there since 1934. Their rates range from $15 to $60 a day, with reduced rates for AANR Members and students.
Sun Ridge Resort is Connecticut's second resort that allows nude sunbathing, it's located on Calvin French Road in Sterling, Connecticut, and features rates of $60-$70 per day for visits to their 42 acre property.
