It was a beautiful day on Candlewood Lake during the summer of 2017, and we were out on the pontoon partying with some friends when we heard the sound of engines in the sky.

We all looked up, and from over the trees came the engine roar of a 1951 Grumman Albatross N7026C Seaplane. It was absolutely stunning as it flew overhead and then landed in the strip of water between Pine Island and the tip of Candlewood Isle. Within 15 minutes, it was surrounded by 20 boats.
