Summer Art Program for Kids Comes to WCSU in Danbury
Looking for something for your kids to do for a few days? I've got a suggestion for you.
School doesn't start for at least another month, so there's a lot of Summer vacation left for your kids, and of course you too. If you'd like to get them out of the house for a few hours and indulge their creative side, Western Connecticut State University has a two day program you might want to check out. So here's the details.
This 2-day program will take place in the Visual and Performing Arts Center at WCSU, 43 Lake Avenue Extension, Danbury.
The WCSUMMER Arts Program is open to students in grades 4 through 7, and the kids will get the chance to explore the world of Theatre and Art through workshops focused on introducing concepts of storytelling, improv, and creative ingenuity.
According to eventbrite.com the program will be taught by Director and Instructor, Anthony DePoto, who is a graduate of WCSU and also artist Stacy Kolbig, a multimedia studio artist, graphic designer and educator.
The program runs Sat. July 22 and Sun. July 23 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with a drop off time of 9:30 a.m. and pick up at 2:15 p.m.
Save time for the afternoon of July 23 because the kids will get to show off what they've learned at a special performance on Sunday July 23, 3 p.m. in the Studio Theatre.
You need to buy tickets for the 2 day program in advance and they must be purchased by July 21.
Okay parents, now go enjoy some free time for yourselves while the kids are off being creative.
