Connecticut’s Favorite Drive-In Announces Summer Lineup
You know summer is coming when we start hearing about the drive-ins around the state. I'm so happy drive-ins still exist. I absolutely love the concept and it's such a fun summer activity.

Connecticut's favorite drive-in is back for another year. The Southington Drive-In is back for year number 16 and they just announced their lineup for the summer. It looks like they will officially be kicking things off on Saturday, May 31 with a showing of the movie Grease. They will be showing movies every Saturday throughout the entire summer with their last showing on Saturday, September 13 with the movie Jaws.
If you've never been before, it's a great place to go. Whether you're with the family or with your partner / some friends, it's such a great night. They operate so well and it's been a Connecticut favorite since they started.
Every Saturday, gates open at about 6 PM and the movies start at dark which is about 30 minutes after sunset. The cost of the drive-in is $20 per car or a $5 walk-in. You are allowed to bring lawn chairs if you prefer that. The sound comes straight from the radio dial in your car, and you get to sit back, relax and enjoy the movie.
They have some fun movies they are showing this year. There are a few throwbacks and a few that are perfect for the kids. They are even showing some newer movies including Wicked and Inside Out 2.
The Southington Drive-In is located at 995 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike. Tis the season! This means summer time is right around the corner and I can not wait. If you're creating a summer Connecticut bucket list, this absolutely needs to be on there.
