Social Media Accuses Weather Channel Of ‘Fake News’ Scam
It became a viral story over the weekend, The Weather Channel seems to be involved in a 'Fake News' controversy regarding one of their Hurricane Florence reports.
It all stems from a report by Weather Channel reporter Mike Seidel who was live on-camera and appeared to be struggling to keep his balance against the winds of Hurricane Florence. And then two guys show up in the background walking with no problem.
People jumped on social media and accused Mike of faking it, so the Weather Channel issued an official statement:
It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted.
Even other news sources were covering the Weather Channel's potential 'Fake News' report.
So with what we know now, why didn't the Weather Channel just have Mr. Mike stand on the road right behind him where the two guys were walking with no problem. The so called footing would have been better, and Mike would have apparently been safer. Well, maybe next time.
