I've been watching Saturday Night Live since it began on October 11, 1975, it's always been one of my favorite tv shows. If you're a superfan, quite a few of the current cast members will be performing at the Ridgefield Playhouse over the next couple of months.

I got lucky two years ago and saw it live, but seeing the cast perform locally is even better. Their freedom of expression explodes outside of the confines of NBC and the FCC. Jimmy Fallon, Colin Jost, Norm Macdonald, Colin Quinn, and Jim Breuer all killed at the Ridgefield Playhouse. I got to see Chris Rock at Buster's in East Hartford, and Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider in Bridgeport. Some of the funniest stand up shows I've ever seen. Lorne Michaels has hired a few stinkers over 49 seasons, but you have to have something special to make that cast.
