Sunday afternoon, Sherman residents will be treated to a drive-by parade featuring many civic organizations. The parade will weave its way through most Sherman neighborhoods, allowing residents to enjoy the parade in the safety of their own yards. The parade keeps Sherman's Memorial Day celebrations going and also commemorates Flag Day.

Sherman First Selectman Don Lowe told me that the parade's participants include the Sherman Veterans,  Boy, Girl, and Cub Scouts, The Board of Selectmen, and many community groups like the CLA, Sherman Church, Sherman Library, Jewish Community Center, and Historical Society. The entire parade is expected to last a little over an hour.

I got to experience New Milford's town parade twice a couple of weeks ago, I ducked into Willow Springs to watch it and then beat it back to my house in time to see everyone go by again. It's a great way to show a little hometown pride, and I hope that Sherman has great weather and a nice parade on Sunday.
