- Monday, November 18th: Music & Variety Mic – Not just for comics! This night welcomes music, poetry, and any kind of performance. It's the perfect time to share your unique talent.
- Monday, November 25th: Comedy Jackpot Mic – The last Monday of the month is all about comedy. Performers get five minutes to shine, and the audience (along with NYCC judges) picks a winner. The prize? Half of the ticket sales, so it’s a great incentive to bring your A-game!
I was a standup comedian from 2009-2011 and then I went back for a year in 2015. It is one the scariest and most rewarding things I've ever done in my life. It also taught me an important lesson; you need to be in something for the right reasons.
I've been a fan of standup comedy my whole life and I used my time to try and make connections with the other comedians for my radio show. Keep in mind, that worked but I did not have real aspirations of jumping to the next level in comedy, maybe I should have. There are no half-measures in standup. It will be the hardest thing you will ever do but if you really love it, and manage to succeed, it will open doors that you never imagined it could.

P.S. Stamford's New York Comedy Club isn't just one of the best comedy venues in CT, it's one of the best in the country. I've not had the pleasure of going to a show there yet, but we've talked to many headliners who swear this place is as good as it gets.
