I can tell you now that it's going to be so hot the National Weather Service has updated their heat advisories for at least the first half of the week.

Looks like the heat index values could climb to 102 by sometime this afternoon, and tomorrow as well. The heat advisory has been issued until 8 PM on Tuesday night, but it could remain in effect until Wednesday for area's of Connecticut and the Hudson Valley.

The National Weather Service issues a heat advisory when the combination of the heat, and the humidity makes it feel like 95 to 99 degrees for at least two consecutive days, or when it feels like 100 to 104 degrees for a shorter duration.

The weather service also warns that those who may have chronic health problems, are seniors, do not have air conditioning in their homes, or work outside, are those at higher risk for heat stroke during a heat wave like this.

You should also not leave pets outside for any length of time and make sure they have enough water to stay hydrated.

They also ask you check in on elderly neighbors or relatives who may be at risk from the heat. If you work outside, it's recommended you take frequent rest breaks, seek a shady area or air conditioned areas and of course stay hydrated. If someone you're checking on or working with is overcome by the heat, you should move the person to a shaded area and call 911 immediately.

Looks like by the end of the week, thanks to a cold front moving in, temperatures should cool down a bit and get back to normal by Thursday. Until then, we're looking at temperatures in the mid to upper 90's today, (Monday), and in the upper 90's again tomorrow with the heat index making it feel like it's 104.

Wednesday will still be hot with highs in the low to mid 90's, but the cooler air will trigger showers and thunderstorms by Wednesday evening, and Thursday's high will only be in the mid 80's, and the upper 70's by Friday.
