Sandy Hook Hoax Videos and Hate Speech Removed From YouTube

Facebook was the first to remove Sandy Hook hoax videos and now YouTube is following suit.

YouTube has made the decision to update their hate speech policy according to an article on the Hartford Courant website. They've made the decision to delete any videos that claim Sandy Hook never happened.

A perfect example is the internet radio host Alex Jones, who is currently facing several defamation lawsuits filed by Sandy Hook families. Jones made the claim on his radio show, Info Wars that Sandy Hook victims' families were played by actors. Here is a statement from a representative from Google who owns the YouTube platform regarding their new direction.

We will be specifically prohibiting videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation, or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status. This would include, for example, videos that promote or glorify Nazi ideology. We will also remove content denying that well-documented violent events like the Holocaust or the shooting in Sandy Hook, took place.
