Ridgefield Loves The Vassar
Phil Vassar made his annual January appearance Friday night at the Ridgefield Playhouse, and he didn't disappoint his legion of fans that turned out to see him "Live".
Phil Vassar is arguably one of the most energetic and talented country performers on the road today. I like to say he’s country music’s piano man. He's also one of a handful of musicians to have multiple hits as a songwriter and as an artist. He has 10 Number One singles, 15 Top 10s, and 26 top 40 hit's.
Friday night he brought his "American Soul Tour" to the Ridgefield Playhouse for a show sponsored by Kicks 105.5.
Starting off the show with "American Soul", the title track of his first new album in over 6 years, he captivated the almost full house at the Ridgefield Playhouse for over 90 minutes.
One of the few performers to work without a set list, (people are asked to Tweet their request's to him direct to the stage), his show is filled with all his hit's from Six Pack Summer, Rose Bouquet, In a Real Love, and Just another Day in Paradise to songs he penned for other Country Stars like I'm Alright, My Next 30 Years, and Little Red Rodeo.
The Phil Vassar Band, who have been together for years, are tight and never miss a beat, especially considering the nature of working without a set list.
If you were there Friday night I'm sure you went home satisfied with your Vassar experience, and probably with an autograph or a picture with Phil. He stayed long after the show to meet his fans, and as always he was willing to sign just about anything they wanted, and take a picture or two.
In case you missed the show, here's a "live" version of "American Soul" from his new album.
