Connecticut continues to be a good choice when it comes to prime filming locations. My co-worker Bill wrote about a Netflix movie called The Noel Diary, which is going to be filmed around Fairfield County in Stamford and New Canaan later this month.

And just this weekend, according to the New Haven Register, movie production crews set up shop in New Haven and are filming scenes for the highly-anticipated Ray Donovan series finale around the city's Union Station this week.

According to the article, production sets will be set up and filming will occur for the Showtime series around 50 Union Ave in New Haven today, Monday June 7, 2021, through this Thursday, June 10, 2021. The star of Ray Donovan, Liev Schreiber, is no stranger to New Haven. He actually graduated from the Yale School of Drama in 1992 with a Master's Degree.

Showtime actually cancelled the series in February 2020, after 7 seasons. If you watched the show like I did, the Season 7 finale left you hanging with no plot resolution in sight. It seems as though the Ray Donovan show runners were betting on a sure thing for Season 8 of the series and were caught off guard. Luckily, the fan base got in gear, kept the series at the top-of-mind for Showtime execs, and voila, filming in New Haven in June of 2021.

So if you're catching a train out of Union Station in New Haven over the next couple of days and you're wondering why craft services is set up behind that box truck, and Liev Schreiber is pouring over a script by the WTNH studios, now you know.
