Police: Two Danbury Women Arrested, Accused of Dealing Narcotics
Two local women have been arrested after police say a weeks-long investigation supported citizen complaints that the pair had been dealing drugs.
According to the Danbury Police Department, 56-year-old Barbara Fleckenstein and 33-year-old Erin Melissa Rusek AKA Irish Erin, both of Danbury, were arrested just after 3:00 PM on Wednesday (March 4) when members of the DPD's Special Investigations Division (SID) executed court issued search and seizure warrants.
Police say that the initial investigation was prompted by claims from multiple local residents that Fleckenstein and Rusek were in fact selling drugs from their Lake Breeze Dr. residence as well as other locations throughout the area.
As the accused duo got into their vehicle on Wednesday afternoon, Danbury officers executed the warrants, with a subsequent search of their car, persons, and home allegedly turning up what police describe as "substantial" amounts of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, heroin and cash. Items that usually coincide with illegal drug sales were also found, including a scale and packaging material.
Both Fleckenstein and Rusek, who the DPD says is nine months pregnant, were taken into custody and charged on a number of drug-related offenses.
They were both released on undisclosed bonds.
